As a skateboarding fan I wanted to make a visualization explaining Battle at the Berrics, a skateboarding competition. I experimented with integrating video, scrolling, text and data visualization to tell a story.
This was my first visualization with users that returned with some frequency which allowed me to iterate on the design, based on behavior tracked using Mixpanel.
In April, the Fabergé Big Egg Hunt scattered giant eggs around NYC. Egg hunters downloaded an app and 'cracked' eggs they visited using Nomi's beacon technology. This visualization is a summary of the data collected.
Inspired by the Microsoft "Pipes" screensaver, this visualization draws one line for each day of the current month, tracing the songs I listened to via the Last.FM API.
While analyzing shopper behavior, I wanted to dig deeper than aggregated stats (ex. average time in store). To do this, I created a graphic that visualizes each shopper's journey as a timeline.
I created this visualization to show how seating usage changed throughout the day and how full the dining area was when store traffic peaked.
A fun visualization of the simple 'Fizz Buzz' function, which separates numbers 1 through 100 into three groups. I optimized this visualization to work well on mobile.
I love to travel and collected my location data with the OpenPaths app. This animation condenses the last two years of my travels into 30 seconds.
I this customer segmentation tool to categorize respondents we were talking to in a field study.
I had to change my phone number and wanted to send out announcements on stationery. I decided it would be faster and easier to register georgesnewnumber.com and create a similar effect with the site's design.
